Maternal Child Health Programs
Services are provided to improve the health of mothers, children and families, with a special focus on low-income populations. The programs described below demonstrate the outreach and education programs to improve medical services in the community. Perinatal Outreach and Education Program
This program’s goal is to assure early and continuous prenatal care for all pregnant women. Education programs and nursing care are available. For further information please contact Carolyn Balliet, PHN at (760) 924-5410 or [email protected].

Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program
This program’s goal is to improve the health of low-income pregnant women and give their babies a healthy start in life. Medi-Cal eligible women receive a comprehensive prenatal risk assessment and services to address problems identified, including comprehensive prenatal care, health education, nutrition services, and psychosocial support for up to 60 days after delivery of their infants. Low Cost Infant/Child Car Seat Program and Seat Belt Safety Program
Mono County is pleased to offer a low cost infant/child seat program to serve the residents of the county. All residents who are financially eligible for this program will receive training in the use of infant/child car seats and be provided with a car seat at a very low cost. Bicycle Safety Program
We sponsor bicycle safety activities throughout the year in conjunction with other County and Town agencies. We have a limited number of bicycle helmets available for children whose families cannot afford to buy them one.
